Researchers Have Found Out 5G Zone That Gives 1 TBPS Speed

Edge- Ok!, 2G- Good!, 3G -Very Good!, 4G -Awesome ! Now its 5G what would you say for that ? After 4G was found out that gives a much higher speed than 3G (Of course!), now we have 5G. Though 4G is still not within the reach of most of us, researchers have already discovered 5G Zone. According to a report by PTI, researchers at the University of Surrey have successfully tested the 5G data connection that gives a record-breaking speed of 1 Tbps (1 terabit per second).

The research was conducted at University of Surrey’s 5G Innovation Centre (5GIC). The researchers were able to reach a speed that is thousand times faster than the current data connections. And this speed is more than 65,000 times faster than average download speeds (and believe that!).

Theoretically, at this 1 Tbps speed is would be possible to download GBs of data in just a few seconds. In other words 100 movies in just 3 seconds.

Prof Rahim Tafazolli, the Director Professor of 5GIC, said there were hurdles to overcome before 5G would be ready
“An important aspect of 5G is how it will support applications in the future. We don’t know what applications will be in use by 2020, or 2030 or 2040 for that matter, but we know they will be highly sensitive to latency.
We need to bring end-to-end latency down to below one millisecond so that it can enable new technologies and applications that would just not be possible with 4G,” he told V3.
We want to be the first in the world to show such high speeds”, he said.
The developers are still working hard on it and we hope that it will deliver the speed as we have intended. It is still in testing mode, and the technology is expected to be made public by 2018. So be ready!

Do you this we could get such a speed with 5G ? Feel free and share your thoughts in comments. We would love to hear from you.

  • Hi 5G sounds great but so is 4G but u only get the best out of it by HOW many people use it is it the same for 5G?

  • Very True. Hardly people use 4G actively and we have 5G here. But get it clear that 5G is not yet available, its only the researchers who have discovered it and still working on it. And it is expected to come by 2018. But the question remains the same "HOW many people will use it ? " 😉
